I realize asking for rules in a world of alternative facts is naive, but here goes: Can we at least not make up massacres?

President Donald Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway invented something called the "Bowling Green massacre" on Thursday night, which she said took place in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

In an interview with MSNBC, Conway said: "I bet it's brand new information to people that President Obama had a six-month ban on the Iraqi refugee program after two Iraqis came here to this country, were radicalized, and they were the masterminds behind the Bowling Green massacre."

This did not happen.

As Conway later said in a tweet, she was referencing the arrest of two Iraqi refugees who had plotted to send weapons to al-Qaeda to help the extremist organization carry out attacks against United States soldiers.

I would write a transition sentence here, but you all just want to get to the jokes anyway.

Conway's invention comes just a couple weeks after Trump and Press Secretary Sean Spicer lied about the size of the president's inaugural crowd, which was followed by Conway making a brief TV appearance in which she said the administration was simply presenting "alternative facts."
